Why is my file not being processed in Epilog?

Why is my file not being processed in Epilog?

SUMMARY

Jan 27, 2016

If you have configured your Epilog agent correctly, but the files you are watching defined in Log Configuration are not being processed then you may need to check the log file itself.

The log file must be ASCII text and not binary or unicode (e.g Little-endian UTF-16 Unicode text) as the Epilog agent will not be able to process these other file types. Epilog cannot monitor 16 bit Unicode files due to the extra null characters in them.

RESOLUTION

Change the file to be UTF-8 format so Epilog can process the file.
