Why are there two installations of the Snare agent after upgrade from OpenSource Agent?
Why are there two installations of the Snare agent after upgrade from OpenSource Agent?
SUMMARY
Aug 18, 2015
Symptom
Upgrading an OpenSource agent to an Enterprise agent may show two instances of the Snare agent installation and one instance running. This is due to a mixture of architecture (32, 64 bit) of agents being installed.
Recommended
Check the installation of the snare locations e.g. c:\program files\snare and c:\program files (x86)\snare. If you see both then uninstall both agents completely and check the registry is all cleaned up and both the program files locations are removed, then reinstall the Enterprise agent.
It is recommended to use the latest Enterprise agent, and where necessary the latest MSI installer creator package.
