How to reset the password on SAM

The default username("admin") and password("admin") for the Snare Agent Manager (SAM) are required to be changed during configuration of SAM.

If the password is forgotten, and is required to be reset, firstly stop the SAM service, then start a command prompt as administrator, navigate to your SAM installation directory and execute:

snareAM.exe -p

snareAM.exe -p

 
Note: Resetting the admin password will also reset their local settings for agent passwords used for scanning as the same password was used to encrypt them.
