Common Issues - MSI

SUMMARY

Organizations that wish to remotely deploy pre-configured Snare agents to workstations and servers, without physically moving from system to system, appreciate the functionality provided by the Windows Installer utility MSI.

The most common issues with setting up or installing MSI include:

• user is not running as local administrator in the command prompt to build the MSI

• the WIX software was not loaded or the path to the software was not updated in the PATH environment variables

• the wrong version of WIX was installed so it is not compatible with the agent
