Mounting Windows NFS share in Backup & Restore

Snares Backup & Restore capability can be configured to mount and NFS share for backing up log data and system configuration. When using a Windows based NFS server, the following permissions need to be configured.
Create Windows NFS share
On the server you wish to configure the NFS share on, ensure the necessary roles are added to Windows for creating and managing NFS shares as per the below screenshot.
Open Server Manager and select “File and storage services” -> “Shares” then select the “Tasks” dropdown and then “New Share..”.
Select “NFS Share - Advanced” and click “Next”.
Configure the server and path as required and clicked “Next”.
Specify the share name as required and click “Next”.
Please note that the “Share Name” will be used to mount the share in backup and restore.
Ensure that the “No server authentication” is configured as per the screenshot below and click “Next”.
Click “Add” to assign permissions to the Snare Central server and in the popup set the “Host” to the IP address of Snare Central, set the “Share permissions” to “Read / Write” and click “Add”. Then click “Next”.
Click “Customise permissions” and give the user “Everyone” read, write and modify permissions.
Set the “folder management properties” to “Backup and Archival Files” and click “Next.
Configure the quota as required and at the confirmation page, click “Create”.
