Edit Linking (Edit Page Menu)

Overview / Description

The Edit Linking option under Edit Page menu gets the overview of linkages between the datablocks on a dashboard page. This quickly and easily clears/removes linking from datablocks, as there’s no need to click on a particular datablock to remove its linking from another datablock or clear link values.

Edit Linking

Click on the Edit Page menu, then select Edit Linking.

The Manage Linking setting will display.

  • Section 1 displays list of datablocks linked to other datablocks on the same dashboard page, e.g. Period is linked to Calls Offered and Answered Trend, Queue Trends, and Calls Handling by Queue.
Clicking any value on Period datablock will be passed as parameter to the linked datablocks to filter their data.

  • Section 2 displays all the datablocks linked to each datablock in Section 1.

  • 3 - Clear Link Value

  • 4 - Remove Linking

  • 5 - Clear All Link Value

  • 6 - Remove All Linking

There are 2 linking options for each datablock:

  • Clear Link Value - Clears the value based on which data was filtered out, but the linking will still exist. I.e. If you click on a parent datablock, then the data is filtered again in the child datablock.

  • Remove Linking - Removes the link between the parent and child datablocks. If data is already filtered in the child datablock, then Remove Linking is clicked, the filter will still exist on the child datablock.

Other Linking Options

  • Clear All Link Value - Clears all the link values which filters data in the child datablocks on the dashboard.

  • Remove All Linking - Removes all links between parent and child datablock. Already filtered values will remain.

Examples

New Report002 datablock links to New Report005 datablock.

On click of AltoCloud, New Report005 datablock displays the link value of AltoCloud.

Clear All Link Value

When you click Clear All Link Value, the linked datablock, New Report005, clears the link value only, but the link between the datablocks is still there.

New Report005 displays the original value. If you click on any field from New Report002 again, New Report005 will be filtered again.

Remove All Linking

When you click Remove All Linking, linking between New Report002 and New Report005 is deleted, but the link value is still there.

New Report005 displays the filtered value. If you click on any field from New Report002, the value in New Report005 will not change.
