eMite User Roles and Permissions


Overview

This page discusses and differentiates the current roles that are available within eMite - including their accessibility and permissions/restrictions. The following information can be utilized by customers and stakeholders, also prospects, to get an understanding of the role-based access that eMite provides to its users.

Roles

Roles are used to provide access and permission to all eMite users, and to enable the customers to define privileges for its users, thereby allowing them to access the necessary information.

These roles can be assigned at a user or a user-group level. The roles assigned at user group level will automatically apply to the users within the user group.


There are four types of roles in eMite:

eMiteAdmin

Most powerful role in eMite, also called “Superuser”;
Automatically granted access to every permission available in eMite

  • Access to all features within eMite dashboard UI, eMite KPI Admin portal, and administrative portals (e.g. Schema, RTBI, Admin)

  • Control on user accounts, security settings, assigning roles to users and groups, etc.

  • None

DashboardAdmin

Responsible for administrative activities in the organization

  • Access to all features within eMite dashboard UI, eMite KPI Admin portal, and administrative portals (e.g. Schema, RTBI, Admin)

  • Cannot create/modify/delete an EmiteAdmin

  • No access to Role for Cube menu in Admin portal, which provides access to Security slicers

DashboardCreator

Responsible in creating and modifying dashboards, while not being involved in any administrative activity in the organization

  • Access to nearly all the features on eMite dashboard UI and eMite KPI Admin portal

  • Can create new pages and dashboards

  • Can create KPIs

  • Can create virtual members, member groups, etc.

  • No access to administrative portals like Schema, RTBI, and Admin

DashboardViewer

For users who must be able to view the dashboards in an organization

  • Has view-only access to eMite dashboard UI

  • Can view the dashboards that are shared with them

  • No access to modify the dashboards or carry out actions that could lead to permanent changes in the page or dashboard

  • Restricted features in eMite dashboard UI including Add Content, Share Page, Manage Report, to name a few
