Launching SAM

Upon installation of the Snare Agent Manager, you may launch SAM from Programs | InterSect Alliance | Snare Agent Manager.  Alternatively start a web browser from the local machine by visiting the URL https://localhost:6261/.  Depending on your browser settings you may get a certificate error, this is due to the self signed certificate that was generated for the web interface during the install process. This certificate can be modified in the general settings section at any time after the setup wizard is completed. Once you accept any browser messages the login page is displayed, with default username 'admin' and password entered at the time of installation.

When you first access SAM you will be greeted with a welcome message to SAM with options to continue your journey with SAM.  The available options are:

  • Let's start the setup wizard This guides the user through the setup and configuration of SAM, including adding networks, changing passwords, applying licenses and more.  For further information see/wiki/spaces/SAM/pages/89146208.
  • Change my password This takes you to the password page at Settings | My Account to change from the default password.
  • Take me to the Dashboard For experienced users, the dashboard is displayed to start the management of your agents.

After an upgrade of SAM, you will be taken to the Dashboard on login with your default username 'admin' and password entered at the time of installation.
