Snare Agent Manager
The Snare Agent Manager (SAM) is used for the license allocation and management of the v5+ Snare Agents using an interface which can be accessed via any modern web browser. The SAM dashboard shows the status and usage of the licensing system, and provides information on operational issues associated with agents and their licenses.
Navigate to the SAM section via the Agent Management | Open Snare Agent Manager Console tab. Selecting the menu item will launch SAM in another tab.Â
Please refer to the User Guide for Snare Agent Manager for further information on the functionality of SAM.
Info
The minimum versions are Internet Explorer 9+ and latest versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Refer to the Installation Guide for Snare Agent Manager for further details.
The SAM configuration file is located at /etc/snare/snaream.conf if a review of the underlying configuration file is necessary.
SAM License
Your Snare Central v8 license will include the license for SAM, so all you require for SAM to license your agents is a SAM Feature License Key available from the SLDM customer portal. The Feature license includes the type of agent and number of agents and can only be added to SAM. You may upload more than one Feature license if required.
In the following example the Feature license includes enterprise agents, MSSQL agents and desktop agents. The license is required to be host locked therefore in Licenses | Key IDs copy the key ids and create the license in SLDM via Add KeyIDs. These keyids will be the same as the Snare Central ones since the SAM is running from within the Snare Central Server.
If your SAM datastore is removed for any reason, then the SAM Key licensing will also be removed, and in this case you will require to reload your Snare Central Server license again, or require a new SAM Key and reapplication of your SAM Feature license.
