The OpenVAS vulnerability scanner provides a framework that facilitates the evaluation of various high and low level internet and industrial protocols for known vulnerabilities. The scanner uses a database of over 50,000 vulnerability tests to evaluate servers and services, which are updated regularly. Updates can be integrated into the Snare Server via the "Manage Nightly Updates" objective within the Administrative tools area.
