Introduction to Snare Central

Initial Configuration

License

After the first successful logon to the web interface as the 'Administrator' user, you will be presented with the Key IDs for your new system. These IDs will be required to generate your final license. You can log in to the Snare License and Download Manager (SLDM) customer portal, to generate the license interactively, or you can provide these Key IDs to your Snare representative via electronic mail. It is recommended that the IDs be copied/pasted to avoid mistyping a character - however for customers inside an airgapped network that need to physically type values into an external device, numbers are presented in different colours to provide an obvious visual distinction between "O" and "0", and "l" and "1".

Your license can be installed using the License upload form displayed to the right.

If you need to return to the license page in the future, you can access it through the Snare Health Checker, or alternatively, you can point your browser at it directly by going to https://snarecentral.mycompany.com//Global/License.php (where snarecentral.mycompany.com is the DNS address or IP address of your Snare Central).

Once the license has been correctly loaded, the Snare Central Configuration Wizard will execute, allowing you to specify initial configuration settings.
