Release Notes - eMite version 7.1.0.0

Overview

Version 7.1.0 of eMite platform includes a bundle of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. A set of powerful data visualization features and data correlation capabilities have been added to the version.
These features have been built in line with eMite’s consistent focus on providing you advanced functionalities, adding innovative methods of viewing data, and also leveraging the advancements in the underlying tech stack.

New Product Features

  • Cross-cube binding - This feature allows you to create a single report using data from multiple data sources by binding together both data in one dashboard. This will help in visualizing similar data from different sources in one report.
For example, in the Contact Center space, you can view the number of calls and number of chats in one dashboard where “Number of calls” is ingested from one data source (e.g. Genesys Cloud) and “Number of chats” is ingested from another data source (e.g. Zendesk Chat). The cross-cube binding feature can be used to build dashboards by binding together measures, KPIs, or Virtual Members.

  • Automated alerts - You can now set up automated alerts that can be triggered based on conditions/rules. The new Runbook feature allows you to configure the rules on observational or historical data, and then set up alerts via SMS or email or voice call. This feature can be helpful for team leads/managers/supervisors who want to be notified as soon as a particular metric goes above/below a threshold. More automation features are on the roadmap and will be part of future versions.

  • External (non-eMite) Elasticsearch indexes - You can connect to external (non-eMite) Elasticsearch indexes and visualize the data on eMite UI. This feature allows you to utilize eMite UI’s capabilities while letting the data remain in non-eMite Elasticsearch indexes. This feature is named Schema Discovery.

  • Multiple instances of Elasticsearch index - eMite UI can now connect to multiple instances of Elasticsearch index. This is a huge improvement over the previous version which allowed eMite UI to connect only to a single Elasticsearch server.

  • Daylight savings calculation - Timezone selection has been enhanced to show major city names instead of timezone offset from UTC time. Daylight savings calculation has been integrated so that the timezone corresponding to a selected city will be automatically calculated by the system after taking into consideration daylight savings.

  • Improved menu layout (for pages) - eMite homepage, along with its menu placement and alignment, has been updated to provide you with maximum screen space for displaying dashboards.
In previous versions, depending on the number of pages created, considerable space was consumed by menus (from pages created), leaving very little space for dashboards and requiring you to scroll to see the full page.
The new layout resolves that problem by collapsing all the menus (from pages created) into a vertical menu that appears only when you choose to expand it from the hamburger menu located on the top left corner.

  • Pin pages - With the new UI layout for pages on the eMite homepage, we have added a feature to pin some of the pages. This allows you to quickly access those pages without having to traverse through the full list of pages on the vertical menu.

  • Date and time formats - More date and time formats have been added in dimensions so you can visualize the same date/time field in varying formats. This feature has been critical, for example, if you want to view customer’s sentiment during a call to the level of seconds and/or minutes.

    • Minutes - mm (0-59)

    • Seconds - ss (0-59)

    • Minutes and seconds - mm ss

    • Date and timestamp - dd-MM-yyyy hhhmmmsss

  • Elastic version 7 - This version runs on Elastic version 7.

Product Enhancements

  • UI dashboard - Enhancements have been done on eMite UI to cater to customer requirements on dashboard filtering, formatting, and alignment with the objective of improving user experience.

  • Process speed-up - Enhancements have been done on eMite’s underlying engine to speed up the processing of complex calculations, simplify KPI processing, and to maintain integration between eMite UI and the engine light-weight.

Bug Fixes

  • Bug fixes to resolve support issues raised by customers mainly around Report Scheduler, data export from drill-through datablock, etc.

  • Security enhancements have been added in this version in line with the rigorous Penetration testing results obtained.
