The Snare service status can be viewed by selecting the Agent Status menu item.  This will display the information for the Snare service such as its version number as well as information relating to the architecture of the machine, other basic machine information, and the running binary file.  The build date is the date the agent was built before it was released.

Snare Agent Managed Configuration (SAMC) status can be one of following:

  • Off              when SAM IP is not configured in Access Configuration
  • Pending...   when agent was previously able to connect and pull the master configuration from SAM but now unable to connect to the SAM
  • Retrying...   agent is connected to SAM but is unable to pull the master configuration from SAM due to this functionality being unlicensed or disabled in SAM, or due to Agent not matching any groups managed by SAM
  • ACTIVE       when agent is able to connect to SAM and successfully pulled the master configuration from SAM
