Release Notes for Snare MSI v3.0.0

The release of this MSI package is overhauled to allow you to remotely deploy Snare Enterprise Agents for Windows, Snare Enterprise Epilog for Windows, and Snare Enterprise Agent for MSSQL, Snare Enterprise Agents for Windows (Desktops), Snare Enterprise Agents for WEC, and accepts the selection of either legacy and version 5 agents.

Other changes include:

• simplified process to create the MSI package.
• supports the creation of MSI for standalone and cluster installation of SnareMSSQL.
• supports the upgrade option to replace the snare files only, and keeping agent settings intact.

Note:

• MSI-3.0 console app does not support Windows 2000, WinXP and Windows 2003. To build MSI for these platforms, user should run the console app on at least on Windows 2008 or later Windows. The resultant MSI can be run on Windows 2000, WinXP and Windows 2003 for agent installation.
• MSI-3.0 does not support the creation of an MSI package for OpenSource agents.
• The same MSI cannot be run twice on the same machine.
