Export configuration with SAM modification

  1. Follow steps 1-8 in the “In place upgrade (Install Wizard - Standalone Licensing) - Snare Solutions - Confluence (atlassian.net)” guide or steps 1-10 in the “Reinstall (Install Wizard - Standalone Licensing) - Snare Solutions - Confluence (atlassian.net)” (depending on your requirement) on a system you would like to upgrade.

  2. Login to the agents web interface https://127.0.0.1:6161 and select “Access Configuration” in the left hand navigation menu.

  3. Set the 3 SAM licensing settings as per your environment, then select “Change Configuration” then “Apply Configuration & Restart Service” in the left hand navigation menu.

     

  4. Open cmd as administrator and run the following commands:

    C:\>cd Program Files\Snare >snarecore.exe -x template.inf

     

  5. You will now have an upgraded configuration exported with the SAM modifications contained in the “C:\Program Files\Snare” directory.

Note: If you have differing polices for certain systems, such as Domain Controllers, you will need to perform these steps multiple times to export the required configuration for each type of system/policy baseline you would like to deploy.
