Overview

Page Background option is found under 'Edit Page' and is used to embed an image on the dashboard page as background. Any image which is set as page background could only be applicable for a single dashboard page. If we wish to use same image as background image for another dashboard page then the same steps to set page background is to be done on another page as well.

Steps to add a Page Background

  • Click 'Edit Page' and then click on the last option, 'Page Background'

  • A new popup 'Page Background Image' will appear. At the bottom, click on the button 'Choose Image'

  • This will open another popup 'Choose Image.' Here you can select from the existing images by clicking on that image. The web address of the image is displayed  at the bottom. Click 'OK' button.

  • In case user wants to set any other image as page Background, then we have the option to upload the same by clicking on '+Upload' button at top left and then one can choose image from their local machine. If user wants to keep their images in a separate folder, click on folder sign button and a new folder is created. This could also be renamed and then images could be uploaded in the same folder. Also, to delete any folder or image, select the same and click on 'X' button at the top to delete. Finally click on 'OK' button to save the changes

  • Once the image is selected it appears in 'Page Background Image' popup and then user needs to select 'Background Size.' By default it is selected to be 'percent.' Other options available are 'contain' and 'cover.' Finally click on 'OK' button to set the selected image and page background

Different options for Background Size

Let's take a sample image to find difference between the three options available for background size. Here we are trying to setup a background image for our dashboard.

On selecting option 'Percent' the image is adjusted to the height of the dashboard and is expanded to cover the entire dashboard page.

On Selection option 'Contain' the background image height is equal to the height of the dashboard page and width is in proportion to the height of image irrespective of the dashboard width.

On selecting option 'Cover' the background image is expanded diagonally to adjust dashboard page width and while doing so, the same image might not be displayed completely.
