Manage the networks where the agents are located.

Add a network

Networks may be added by selecting +Add Network from the toolbar.

During a current scan the progress percentages will be displayed to two decimal places, and the number of agents found are indicated.  You may stop or pause the scan by clicking on the progress scan.

Each network listed displays the following:

  • a Start Scan button that allows the network to be scanned for agents
  • the name given to the network
  • the theoretical number of IPs found in that range
  • the number of agents found on the network (which may be reflected by the total reporting agents SAM found withing the bounds of the network)
  • the netmask for the network
  • the network address
  • CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing0
  • settings cog icon that allows further editing of that network

Edit a network

The network may be edited by selecting the cog icon Information here displays the recent scans and their status.  The settings for this network may be updated or the network may be removed.  Note that removing a network will not remove the agents associated with it.

Updating the Network, Netmask and CIDR must be sensible.  For example updating the Network from 10.1.0.0 to 10.1.1.0 will only save correctly if either the Netmask is changed to 255.255.255.0 or if the CIDR is updated from 16 to 24. if you know your netmask range you can use that.

If you are not sure what netmask to use for your networks, then please consult your network administrator.

The normal CIDR ranges in use are:

32 - individual host scans

24 - class C network range 256 addresses

16 - class B range or 65,536 addresses

Sorting data

The list of networks may be sorted alphabetically, or by the total number of agents found on the network, or sorted by the size of the network.
