Following is the list of different Snare versions and their respective .adm/.admx versions. The version 5 agents will use the older version of the ADM templates if installed that is supported by the pre version 5 agents ( also now known as the legacy agents ).  The v5 agent will dynamically upgrade at run time the older settings and translate them in to the newer v5 format where possible. If the settings in the existing AGP or SGP are in error then the agents will fall back to known defaults to ensure that agents are in an operational state. 

This is done for compatibility only and it is recommend that customers install the latest v5 ADM templates to use the latest functionality. If a v5 ADM template is loaded then the agents will not use the older versions, this avoids conflicts with the configuration and allows customers to use new and different settings with the v5 agents from the legacy agents.
