  • Frequency of Email Alerts - frequency of sending email alerts, in hours. By default, email alerts will be sent every 24 hours. A value of 0 will disable email alerts.
  • Outgoing Mail Server - Enter the mail server name or IP address for your outgoing mail server. Note you may be able to find this information in your email program if you are unsure. Leave blank if not using the email reporting.
  • SMTP Port - Enter the port for your outgoing mail server
  • Authentication & Encryption - The options to select from are dependent on if your outgoing mail server requires authentication. The Encryption option will support TLS up to v1.2  based connections when in use.  When authentication is selected, SMTP Username and SMTP Password will be displayed. Enter this information to log in to the SMTP server.  Options include:

  • Recipient Email Address - Enter the email address of the recipient who will receive the alerts. Group email address can be entered.
  • Sender Email Address - Enter a sender email address such as your organization or department.  Some providers require that the sender email address matches the SMTP username.
  • License Features - Select agent license features for which you would like to receive alerts about Snare agents exceeding license allowance. By default alerts for all the Agent license features are enabled (list of features depends on the type of Agents connected to SAM). This feature can be useful for opting out from receiving alerts about optional features that are not in use.
